For Thanksgiving this year we met up with my family in Layton, Utah for the weekend. We had dinner with lots of my mom's family and then we got to go see the lights on Temple Square. It was a lot of fun to get to be with family.
This is us on Christmas eve carrying over my family's tradition of opening up a gift before we go to bed. It's always pjs! P.S. Justin had to have bears on his pjs so i ended up making them because he couldn't find any he liked! lol He's a goof!
This semester I took a watercolor class. I was terrified in the beginning because my experiences with other painting classes haven't been the greatest. But I actually discovered that I kinda liked watercolor painting. I am no master but I think I did ok. So here are some of the paintings I did.
This is one of the first ones we did. The whole class painted the same thing. I think it took us at least two weeks to get through it. But I was proud of it for being my first watercolor painting.
This is actually an emulation piece. We had to pick a watercolor artist that we liked and try to paint one of their pieces just like they painted it. This is a painting of Carthage Jail, the original was painted by Roland Lee. It was tough to get it close to his but it was fun to do.
This was one of my favorites to paint! It is one of our wedding pictures! I did it in black and white and I was pretty excited with how it turned out.
There are still a few more that I'd like to put up here but I haven't taken pictures of them yet. So I'll get those up later.
Ok, moving on. So like I said before, I did my internship with Hattie Bates. She is amazing. I learned so much while working from her! She has been a great mentor and an awesome friend. We had some good times this semester! So I just thought I'd show you a few of the images that I took while working with Hattie. There's so much but I'll only through in a few.
These are some pictures from a few weddings that I helped Hattie with.
And these are some newborn pictures I did for some good friends of ours. Hattie helped me do them in her studio!
Ok, so besides doing photography with Hattie I also had a few gigs of my own this semester. So here's a sneak peak at some of those. P.S. I'm currently working on getting a photography website or blog set up so there will be more to see when that happens!
So, that is a small but still somewhat lengthy update! I hope I didn't bore you! And hopefully I'll stay more current from now on! We'll see. :)
